Hyatt Privé: Free Breakfast, Room Upgrades & Hotel Credits

I’ll explain how you can access benefits like complimentary breakfasts, $100 property credits, and potential room upgrades for no additional cost through the Hyatt Privé program.

Hyatt Privé — Benefits at a Glance

Generally speaking, a Hyatt Privé travel advisor can secure these benefits for your stay:

Daily breakfast for two at a hotel restaurant

Property credit (value varies by property) usable during your stay

Room upgrade (subject to availability but advisors can confirm within 24 hours of booking)

Early check-in / late checkout when possible

Welcome amenities

Who doesn’t love Hyatt? Across their portfolio of brands—from Park Hyatt to Hyatt House—there’s something for everyone. Given the relative ease of earning Hyatt points through popular credit cards like the Chase Sapphire lineup, Hyatt points and the travel value they deliver are well understood across a spectrum of travelers.

What Is Hyatt Privé?

Hyatt Privé is an invitation-only program for select luxury travel advisors. These travel advisors are then able to offer you VIP benefits and special offers (sometimes, this can mean discounted rates!) that are designed to make a Hyatt stay even more memorable and just a touch nicer.

For discerning travelers like you, Hyatt Privé is a free VIP program that gives you elite perks when booking luxury Hyatt hotels at the same public rate.

Is Hyatt Privé a Loyalty Program?

While Hyatt is best known for its World of Hyatt loyalty program, Hyatt Privé is a separate, cash-booking program that delivers meaningful benefits while enhancing your overall stay—at no extra cost.

Can You Earn World of Hyatt Points with Hyatt Privé?

Think of Hyatt Privé as complementary to World of Hyatt. Though there are no loyalty tiers for Hyatt Privé, you can still earn Hyatt points for stays booked via Hyatt Privé.

While your Hyatt Privé advisor will try and get a room upgrade for you, you generally cannot stack a points upgrade on top of your Hyatt Privé booking.

How Hyatt Privé Works

You can book a Hyatt property directly via the Hyatt website, or even an OTA like Expedia or Booking.com. But for the same price as booking directly with Hyatt (note—it must be the standard, flexible rate), a luxury travel advisor affiliated with the Hyatt Privé program can book your room while adding on several significant benefits.

While Hyatt Privé can be complementary to World of Hyatt points, some travelers may view the program as a way to ensure privileges typically associated with high status Hyatt Globalists without having to stick specifically to Hyatt wherever they travel.

As with many similar programs like Four Seasons Preferred Partner, each agent’s personal relationship with a particular property (they’re often on a first name basis with key hotel staff members) influences the likelihood of certain benefits like room upgrades.

Think of the advisor as your travel chief of staff. Prior to your arrival, they will advocate on your behalf, communicating your needs and preferences directly with people they know on the ground. Your reservation will get flagged in the Hyatt system for VIP recognition. On the rare occasion an issue pops up, they can serve as a point of contact with the property to help you find a seamless resolution.

How to Book Through Hyatt Privé

There are many luxury travel advisors affiliated with Hyatt Privé, but finding one that you jive with may take some time (feel free to reach out to us and we can recommend a few that we’ve worked with personally as well).

You can either approach the advisor with a clear property destination in mind or they can advise you on your next vacation spot. Let them know which room you are interested in and from there, a good advisor will generally be able to confirm which room upgrade they might be able to vouch for you.

The advisor should confirm your rates (which should mirror what you see online) and benefits when sending you the payment link. The reservation is ultimately still managed by Hyatt and the booking will show up on your Hyatt account shortly after you complete payment.

There should be no hidden fees when working with a Hyatt Privé advisor.

Who Should Use Hyatt Privé?

Truly—if you’ve made it this far down the article—you. There are over 300 Hyatt properties around the world where you can use Hyatt Privé, from Park Hyatt to Andaz and even Alila. If you’ve decided on a Hyatt stay, why not add on a few additional perks for the same amount of money you would spend booking directly online?

You may hear rave reviews from friends about the (relatively) awesome points value of certain hotels like Hotel Toranomon Hills in Tokyo, but there are situations where it may make sense to save the points and fork over some cash.

In our experience, Hyatt Privé makes sense for mid-ish tier Hyatt hotels where the cash cost per night is roughly $1:100 points. As an example, we originally booked Carmel Valley Ranch for 40,000 points / night. With Hyatt Privé, we realized that the cash outlay was roughly $450 / night, included free breakfast for two and a $100 property credit, which we used for dinner at the hotel restaurant. At destination properties like Carmel Valley Ranch, all your meals are within resort grounds anyway, so we figured this was great value. To top it off, our Hyatt agent was able to secure for us a room upgrade to a Vineyard Oak Studio with King and Outdoor Tub with direct views over the 11th hole.

On a different trip, we ran a similar calculation for The Standard, Singapore. For roughly $200 / night, our Hyatt Privé advisor snagged us a room upgrade, free breakfast, and a $125 (SGD) property credit which more than covered a tasty lunch at the hotel restaurant, Kaya at The Standard. We got upgraded to a corner Standard King Pool View with wraparound, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and even got to enjoy watching a game of grass court tennis from our room!

With both Carmel Valley Ranch and The Standard, Singapore, the upgrade was confirmed within 24 hours after we made the booking through our advisor.

While some Hyatt travelers will want to crunch numbers down to the cent on dollar vs. point value, a rough rule of thumb we use is—if the cash cost doesn’t gouge a large hole in our wallet and we think we can get better value for a points-based booking at a future Hyatt property, use Hyatt Privé. In situations like Alila Ventana Big Sur on the California coast where a stay can run $2,000+ / night, we’ll go with points.

Hyatt Privé provides a shortcut to solid benefits which you wouldn’t otherwise have without Globalist status. On the flip side, we believe there is a large cohort of travelers who hold Hyatt points and care about finding the best value conversion for bookings. Unlike brands like Four Seasons where the only option to book is with cash, for Hyatt properties, the choice of points vs. cash means you will find yourself frequently evaluating the “value” of a stay through that lens.

Our conclusion is that Hyatt Privé can provide extra perks for those travelers already set on a particular Hyatt property while also strongly appealing to those looking to maximize value between their points and cash.
